Nov. 12th, 2008 04:24 pmWow! Just like that, we have tickets to England. It feels unreal - I have not even spoken to the university travel agent, but the e-tickets came through this afternoon.
Yup, we have funding for them, which is good as they cost lots of money - but we're still waiting to hear if we have funding to stay in England (and Scotland) for a month - which costs even more!
For anyone who's interested, we'll be touching down at Heathrow at 1.10pm on the 10th of January, having flown via LA and Frankfurt. Going home via Munich and Hongkong - presumably so we don't accidentally run into ourselves going the other way. Time-travel, folks!! We arrive in LA 4 hours before we take off!
While in England, I have to visit the British Library/Museum to stare at nearly-illegible manuscripts - which will hopefully be better than the photocopies. Then Cambridge, ditto. Zcatcurious needs to spend time in the National Library of Scotland, looking at letters written to/from/about Byron. But we will hopefully have a week of getting to see sights. Any suggestions?
