THESIS )
I built a new garden box last week, which was all mighty of me. Now I have to fill it with compost, which I think will take a LOT of work. And I caught another possum. I'm trying to keep up my hopes for all the things I can do when I'm finished - but the planting of plants may need to come before December, if I'm to have any over summer.

Yes, feeling rather scattered at the moment, as you may tell from my writing. Not much chance of getting a real job for a while yet, but when I talked with my history supervisor about tutoring she basically threw papers at me (to teach - not to send me away), so that's good.

I also talked to her about the Centre of Medieval and Early Modern Studies (MEDEMS) which my English supervisor got started, and which is threatening to collapse with her retirement. One of the problems is there is no actual income. I have plans for that, and will talk with the 'acting director' over this next week. Also, HS was very supportive of my wanting to get at least one more conference, so I'm to try and arrange that. For Feb next year, so another thing to start before my thesis is finished.

I was contemplating themes for a conference, trying to be as broad as possible. If you were in the area, would you be interested in this:
"Miracles, magic or medicine: Medieval and Early Modern responses to natural and unnatural phenomena"?

Anyway, 'nuff procrastination. I have just caught up on personal journals, will have to look at pretty corsets another day. And go and work on my least favourite chapter.

(This is cross-posted from LJ, manually, as I realised that most of my friends are now over here.  I guess I'd better start using this blog-site, now!)
