More Summer Madness

As mentioned by several Aucklanders, the weather has been interfering with sleep patterns. Even I, loving hot weather, have been affected by it. Last night, however, I seem to have gotten the combination of sheet, polar-fleece blanket, and summer duvet right.
Which was good, because I needed the sleep. Yesterday was a bit of a strain, with the funneral of a well-loved and respected lecturer of the English Department, at which I cried inappropriately much, followed by putting my brother, his wife, and 9-month daughter on a plane back to the States. They were over here for about 3 months, but because they stayed on the Shore, we only saw them seven or eight times. But at the airport, smallest-niece let me hold her, which was lovely.
The past couple of weeks have continued hectic.

It has been a relief to decide that we will train for 2009's Trailwalker, which means that we have some free weekends between now and April. Still planning on volunteering for this year's event, so we can see what it's like from the inside.
And yesterday I finally found some lovely material as a contrast for my winter coat - the last one I made now needs retiring, and saving for pirate costumes. Now I have to balance my time, so that I do enough study that I deserve to do some sewing.
On the study front, I told my supervisor that I will have something written to hand her next week, so I'd better go and do something about that.
